Mining distribution boxes are electrical equipment used in high-risk environments, whether underground or on the surface. They involve both electrical safety and mining safety, and their certification requirements are very strict. They are mainly divided into two major areas: coal mines (coal mine safety) and non-coal mines (mining safety), and must also meet explosion-proof requirements.

I. Major Certifications for Mining Distribution Boxes in China
1. Compulsory Product Certification (CCC Certification)
Core Certification: The product must comply with national mandatory explosion-proof and safety standards.
Note: All explosion-proof electrical products sold in China, including explosion-proof distribution boxes used in coal mines, must pass this certification.
2. Mining Product Safety Mark Certification
Core Certification: This is a national safety access system for specialized mining equipment. Depending on the type of mine and explosion-proof method, there are three main types of certificates: MA Certification (Coal Mine Safety Mark), KA Certification (Mining Safety Mark), and KY Certification (General Mining Safety Mark).
Issuing Authority: National Mining Product Safety Mark Center.
Note: Electrical products without this mark are theoretically prohibited from use underground. This certification not only reviews the product itself but also the factory's production capacity and quality management system.
3. Explosion-proof Certificate
Core Certification: Used to prove that the product will not ignite surrounding explosive mixtures in flammable and explosive environments.
Issuing Authority: National Explosion-proof Electrical Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Center. Note: The certificate will indicate the explosion-proof type (e.g., flameproof type d, intrinsically safe type i, potted type m, etc.), explosion-proof rating, and temperature group. For coal mines, it is usually Ex d I Mb (I indicates coal mine use, Mb is the equipment protection level).
4. Factory Inspection Report and Type Test Report
Type Test Report: Issued by a third-party national-level laboratory, proving that the product design conforms to national standards such as GB/T 3836 series (explosive atmospheres) and GB/T 12173 (general electrical equipment for mining).
Factory Inspection Report: Routine inspection records of each product leaving the factory to ensure production consistency.
II. Common International Certifications
Specific certifications need to be applied for based on the target country:
Internationally recognized: IECEx certification, the International Electrotechnical Commission's explosion-proof electrical product certification system. It has mutual recognition mechanisms in many countries, with high mutual recognition among member states, reducing redundant certifications.
EU: ATEX certification (Explosion-proof Directive) and CE certification. All equipment entering the EU market for use in potentially explosive atmospheres must hold these certifications.
Russia and CIS: EAC certification, the Customs Union certification, including explosion-proof requirements.
USA: UL or FM certification. The US mainly follows the Class, Division system, which differs from the IEC system. Mandatory by the US Mine Safety and Health Administration, for use in underground coal mines and other gas-bearing mines.
Canada: CSA certification. Canada's most important explosion-proof safety certification.
Brazil: INMETRO certification. A mandatory national certification in Brazil.
Australia: ANZEx certification. An explosion-proof equipment certification program in Australia and New Zealand.
Southeast Asia: Indonesia SNI, Malaysia SIRIM/DOSH, Thailand TISI. These are all mandatory certifications in these countries, typically requiring a local agent, local testing, or factory inspection.
